I started this glorious morning on a small dhoni boat via my week group tour sailing around the breathtaking Maldives islands. And if that wasn’t awesome enough, I barely set foot on ground, bidding goodbyes to my fellow explorers, before boarding my own personal speedboat to another paradise at the Sheraton Maldives Full Moon Resort.
Backstory….. I had always dreamed that this luxury destination would be the location of my dream honeymoon. With that goal still in the distant future, I decided to flip the switch & make it a reality now. So I strategically saved up all my hotel points over the last 5 years to actually make this trip attainable. Then, as I researched Asian destinations for a two week fall getaway prior to busy season, I found the perfect combo of city history (India/Taj Mahal) & beach escape.
Just 10 mins away, we were greeted with traditional Maldivian music & juice before being whisked away via a golf cart to tour this island paradise. And at 10:15am on a random Thursday, my room was ready early & I could hardly contain myself. As we stopped at the wooden plank walkway, my heart missed a beat & I swear I actually skipped along to my bungalow.
My escort opened the door into my own slice of heaven for 2 nights & 3 full days. The snacks were stocked, the bed luxurious, the complimentary macaroons tasty, the free toiletries plentiful, the tub view amazing, the private deck pool overlooking the snorkeling lagoon & sky blue Indian Ocean….. perfection!
Nope…. definitely not just a dream!!!!
